Why is there an asterisk (*) appearing in the Percentile and/or Score column as opposed to an actual value?
Failure Score (FSS) Percentile (1-100) and Risk Class values are specific to each country and provide a relative risk ranking within each specific country. They cannot be compared across markets because relative ranking is tied to different underlying risk levels in each country.
For example, a percentile range of 26-30 in Canada indicates a 2.60% probability of failure, whereas in the US a percentile range of 26-30 corresponds to 3.03% probability of failure. This is based on an average failure probability of 2.16 in Canada and 2.73 in the US (*)
Risk Classes cannot be compared across countries because Risk Class assignment is also based on the Percentile Score. Raw Scores, however, can be compared between countries. For example, a Raw Score of 1130 indicates a 50% chance that a company will fail, regardless of whether they are a Canadian or US company.
