Credit Network for DNBi is an online, interactive tool where users can securely share payment experience on companies of common interest with trusted peers.

What is the purpose of DNBi Credit Network?

The Credit Network allows you to supplement your knowledge of companies in D&B’s database by making a request for trade information to a community of peers. This additional knowledge will help you more effectively manage your portfolio and mitigate company risk. When faced with a “thin” or non–current trade file, calling upon the Credit Network community may help validate the existence or give additional insight on a customer before making a credit decision.

How can I get started using Credit Network?

D&B has constructed the network to be available only after a DNBi workspace administrator has opted–in to the Credit Network and agrees to the Terms & Conditions (Ts&Cs). Once the admin accepts the Ts&Cs, users on the workspace will be able to view the Credit Network tab. Users, however, must also accept the Ts&Cs in order to gain full access to the network.

Why is D&B launching Credit Network in ‘Beta’?

D&B is launching Credit Network in ‘Beta’ as we work to deliver enhanced functionality, obtain feedback from our customers, and make efforts to bring our customer base onto the Credit Network as active users.

I am on the Credit Network but I am not getting a response to my request — why?

As the number of users opting into the network grows, there will be more and more potential users to actively handle a request. While the network is in ‘Beta’ it is possible that not enough users will be on the network just yet to “receive” and ‘respond’ to your request for trade information. D&B asks for your continued patience while the product is in ‘beta’ mode and to try submitting your request again (possibly with a different filter criteria or longer response date).

Will submissions to the Credit Network be available to others besides the requestor?

Submissions to the Credit Network can be made either through a response to another member’s request, or by selecting the ‘Share’ link and entering in trade experience data on a company. In either case, submissions on a company will be viewable to other Credit Network members through that company’s DNBi Live Report. For example, if Member A submits a request on Company X to the network and Member B responds to the request, Member A will see the submission as a response to the original request while any other member can view the response if they access Company X’s Live Report..

Is Credit Network data considered actual D&B data? Do submissions impact D&B scores?

At this time any submission by a Credit Network member is subject to the Ts&Cs, and is to be considered only as supplemental or peer–level data. Submissions are not subjected to our proprietary DUNSRight process as would trade data received from partners within our Trade Exchange Program. Therefore, Credit Network submissions do not impact (either negatively or positively) a company’s D&B predictive scores and indicators (e.g. Commercial Credit Score).
