D&B collects data from a multitude of sources, including telephone company data, news & media sources, corporate financial statements, payment data, courts & legal filings offices, government registries, and telecenters. The diversity of our data sources is significant because we are able to provide our customers with a multi-faceted view of a business.

• Telephone Company Data – We process listings weekly to identify new businesses and to update changes on existing records. Weekly file covers 99.5% of new business listings from the telephone service providers.
• News and Media Sources – We monitor top news providers every day to uncover changes and updates.
• Payment Data – We collect over 693 million payment experiences from over 5,000 companies. This Accounts Receivable data on U.S. based companies provides an overall evaluation of how quickly a company made payment to each vendor.
• Courts & Legal Filings Offices – We collect over 140 million public records from 3,100 U.S. courts and state offices. This includes U.S. based company information on suits, liens, judgments, bankruptcies and UCC Filings. (collectively called Public Records). We capture approximately 85% of all US suits, liens and judgments and 100% of all US business bankruptcies.
