What is D&B’s matching process?

D&B’s US matching consists of three major areas of proprietary functionality that maximize match performance:

1. Cleansing, Parsing, Standardization – Normalizes name, address, city; Standardizes addresses
2. Candidate Retrieval – Retrieves possible matches from our global database and assigns MatchGrades and Confidence Codes
3. Evaluation & Decisioning – Evaluates matches with our MatchGrade patterns and Confidence Codes to return the best possible matches

D&B’s global matching consists of the same three major areas of functionality. The only difference between the two is that global matching does not include Cleansing in its process.
